Used when software is composed from existing parts.


Existing features of the system that user will experience are designed.
Uses prototyping

Early design model.

Used when requirements are available but design has not yet started.
Software structures in terms of final construction, modification & tuning
to create a system that will give a required performance

Post-architecture model

Used once the system architecture has been designed and more
information about the system is available.
Focuses on the physical structure of the application.
