Dear Mrs. Kopp:
!

For my PRIDE paper, I have chosen marine biology as the career I want to focus on. I will
research the daily life of a marine biologist, different specializations in the field, skills and
education required to be successful in this field, and different famous marine biologists. I hope to
learn as much as I can about this career and hopefully use this knowledge to benefit me in the
future.

I plan on writing about what an average day is like for a marine biologist. I will discuss several
different specializations in the field and describe what is done in that profession and the different
aspects of it. Because marine biology is an overall field, not a specific occupation, I will talk
about the different jobs in the field. I was inspired to write my paper about marine biology
because of my life long love of the ocean. At a young age, I have always been interested in
animals in general, but specifically marine animals. When I turned 12, I took the PADI Open
Water Certification SCUBA diving class at Lake Norman Scuba with PLP. A few weeks later I
dove for the first time in the ocean. It was mind blowing and opened a whole new world of
interest in the ocean for me. SCUBA diving is still an interest, as I am taking classes to advance
my diving education and am currently working towards Master SCUBA Diver, and then start a
professional career as a Dive Master.

I plan on interviewing a marine biologist or an individual has a degree in marine biology, but
whos job is not a marine biologist but relates to marine biology in some way.

I pledge to avoid plagiarism, and I am aware of the PLP ethics guide and its consequences for
cheating.

!
Sincerely,
!
