INTERVENTIONS

Relaxation Exercises
Caused by increase activity of
inspiratory muscles during
expiration.
The increase even continue after
recovery from acute airway
obstruction, hence contribute to
dynamic hyperinflation.
It also to reduce breathing frequency
and increase the tidal volume, thus
improving breathing efficiency.

Pursed-Lips Breathing
Performed active expiration through
pursed lips.
Pursed lips breathing reduces breathing
frequency,dypsnea and partial CO2.
It also improves tidal volume and
oxygen saturation at rest
Symptoms : patient have more marked
increase tidal volume and decrease
breathing frequency.

Active Expiration
Contraction abdominal muscles
increases abdominal pressure causes
lengthens the diaphragm.
It also increase elastic recoil pressure of
the diaphragm and the rib cage, the
release which after relaxation expiratory
muscles assist next inspiration.
Normal response is to increase the
ventilator requirement.
