The Pride project has the potential of beingacareerchangingopportunity,withresearchandthe

experience, I see this having a large impact on my future. Knowing that I wish to be in the
medical field, I am indecisive between the choice of pursuing the career of being a doctor or a
nurse. To assist me with this immense decision I must focus on one ortheother,atthistimethe
choice of being a doctor intrigues me more. To undertake this field of medicine I would like to
study a specialty, such as ophthalmology. During this process I will explore differentaspectsof
ophthalmology such as the surgical element. To pursue this ambition I will research future
colleges,pricesandtheeducationaspecttobecomeanophthalmologist.

To have a better understanding of ophthalmology, I will complete an extensive research of the

eye and its diseases. Such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment,
along with information of preventingeyesfrompossiblediseases.Whichwillleadmetoabetter
comprehension of procedures or prescriptions that can correct eyesight. Such as cataracts, that
can be completed by surgerywhichremovesthecloudylensfromtheeye,then replacesitwitha
specializedprescription lensthattheeyecanthenseeclearlythrough. Allofthisinformationwill
supportmytopicasacareerchoiceofophthalmology.
