13.2.1.1
ICF World Ranking is an on-going system of points to rank all the competitors in
each event. The formula to calculate the points reflects the following principles:
- Quality of the starting field of the competition
- The importance of the competition
- The quality of the result achieved by the competitor
13.2.1.2 The current ICF Slalom Racing World Ranking is calculated from the best 3
results of the current designated events.
.
1° - 2006 SLR world cups, 2006 SLR World championships and 2006 European and
Asian Continental Championships.
2° - 2007 SLR World cups, 2007 SLR World championships and 2007 Continental
championships when organized, Olympic test event.
3° - 2008 SLR World cups, 2008 Continental championships, 2008 SLR Pre-world
event and Olympic Games
.
For each competition “Race Points” are calculated for every competitor with the following
formula:
Race Points = Phase Offset + ((Phase Factor * Time) / Time of Leader) – Phase Factor
The “lowest” Race Points in any Phase are taken into calculation as the score for an athlete
in every competition.
2) Quality of the event = Penalization
The World Ranking List is established by building the average of the best 3 ICF Race Points
achieved by any competitor participating at least in three of the current competitions. (List of
these competitions is posted on the foot page of each ranking page)
Competitors having 3 or more results are ranked above all competitors having only 2 results.
Competitors with 1 result only are scored at the end of the list.
The Calendar for publication of the 2008 ICF SLR World ranking has been established as
follow:
1 – After 2008 Continental SLR championships are completed, 18th of June 2008
2 – After La Seo de Urgell SLR Pre-World event, 17th of July 2008
3 – After Olympic Games in Beijing, final ICF World ranking for 2008 season, 31st of
