Functions in the Coursebook

Aim:

to increase familiarity with coursebooks and with the names

of functions and some of their common exponents

Target Audience:

teacher trainers/candidates

Relevance to TKT:

Module 1 Part 1

Organisation:

individuals then pairs/groups/whole class

Materials needed:

coursebooks

1. Each participant uses a coursebook to collect the names of at least 10

functions. These can be found in the table of contents.
2. In class they then ask their classmates to supply exponents of each function.
Notes/Variations:

This activity could be done in pairs, groups or as a whole class.

If participants find it hard to think of exponents, they could use coursebooks.
