October 6, 2015. Today is supposed to

be a rest day for us, because we dont have
schedule on our Field Study. Since I have
nothing special to do, I save this day to
counsel her.

12:00 pm, we meet at the hallway of the school. We headed to the Green House to
have our little talk there.
I introduced myself to her. And then, I asked her to introduce herself too. I am so
delighted that she talked without hesitations. She told me that she is the oldest child in the
family. She stopped schooling after her high school graduation. She worked in a
carenderia, to earn money.
We also talked about her likes and dislikes. She said her favorite color is blue. And
were same on that, I also love blue, because it is so refreshing. She loves ice cream and
chocolate, and so do I. She loves dancing, but she admitted that shes not that good on it.
She also loves solving math problems. In fact, she wants to be an engineer. But then, her
parents cannot support her financially with her chosen course. She honestly told me that
being a teacher is none of her choice. She doesnt want to be a teacher, because she hates
explaining things. But, according to her, she admires teachers on how they inculcate
knowledge to students. I told her that, maybe someday shell gonna like it. Because for
me, being a teacher is the best thing that we can be proud of.

At exactly 1 pm, we meet at the library. But

then, I think its not the right place to counsel,
thats why we go upstairs and even if we are
standing and theres no chair for us to used, we
started our mini conversation.

At first, we dont know how to start the conversation. We are being shy with each
other. So I began narrating my own story. I told her the things I like. And then, she told
me also the things she likes. We both realize that we have lots in common.
Ive learned that she is the youngest in the family and to become a teacher is her
dream even when she was only a child. She was inspired by her tita, a teacher. For her, if
you are a teacher, you will not only get the benefits from the Government but also you
will get the respect, which everyone wanted to have.
Chloe is a friendly person and an outgoing one. But, she said Shes the type of
person who doesnt initiate friendship if she thinks that person is not willing to be friends
with her. And when it comes to her friends, she is the most chatty and witty among them
all.
She opened up to me that recently she and her friend has misunderstanding. She
thought her friend is mad to her, and her friend thought that shes mad with her too. But
now, they are in good terms already. They settled it ahead of time. I told her that in
friendship, misunderstanding is always present, but we need to settle this
misunderstanding before its too late.
As time goes by, we feel comfortable with each other. We both didnt notice the
time, because we are so occupied by our little talk. She has her next class thats why we
ended our conversation already. We take a picture, and we parted our ways.

October 6, 2015. Today is supposed to be a

rest day for us, because we dont have schedule on
our Field Study. Since I have nothing special to do, I
save this day to counsel her.
I texted her if she has an available time for
counseling. After several minutes, she replied and she said that she was absent today because she
is sick. I told her to take a rest, and drink some medicine. Maybe we can have the counseling
session if shes already fine.
I never expected that she will reply after that, but I proved myself wrong when she text
me back that she is willing to have a little conversation with me over the phone. We keep on
sending messages to each other.
She told me that she is the oldest child in the family. She is really close with her mother,
in fact they are like sisters. She can tell her mother about her secrets, and she can always count
on her whenever she need someone to talk to. She was not that close with her father. And it is
because, her father is an OFW, and she can only see him during Christmas.
She was boyish when she was a kid. But then, she had grown as a shy lady. And even
though shes shy, she tried to be sporty and join some school activities. She loves dancing, as
well as singing. She also loves making essays and writing stories about life. When she was in her
room and she has nothing to do, she will just get her notebook and pen, and began writing
stories.
Maica said, she has a mind grain. And she inherits it from her mother. Too much stress
from school works and activities contribute to the pain that she feels. Having this kind of illness,
makes her feel that she needs to let go of her dream of being a teacher. But in the end, she still
pursue her dream.
She said, she is having hard times in studying, because of what she feels. Even though
she is giving her best in reviewing her lessons, when it comes to exam, she still got a low grade.
