2006 was a good year. B-Band has performed numerous product focus and changes, and a business alliance, to consolidate
the strengths of B-Band. This evolution of BBand will bring many important, positive, results to all B-Band customers in 2007.

For 2007 B-Band introduces a new UST pickup, two new guitar preamps and a new drum
preamp. There are also new upgrades to the
more popular guitar preamps offering higher
output and headroom and very low noise.

B-Band Ltd has also formed a strategic alliance with Belcat Co., Ltd. Belcat is a very
reputable manufacture of amplifiers, tuners,
effect pedals, preamps and pickups since
1988. With this alliance B-Band will bring
products with added value to the customer.

UST
The B-Band UST* (Under Saddle Transducer) is the finest pickup choice for acoustic
guitar. Instruments equipped with a BBand UST have enhanced countless live
and studio productions by being able to
produce an unparalleled acoustic tone.
The new B-Band R series Ribbed UST
continues with unsurpassed sound quality
but with a more robust structure. The pickup is physically ultra thin and flexible making it easy to install usually without the
need for modifications to the saddle or saddle slot. The new ribbed structure of the
UST R series UST is more durable with better balance properties. This makes installation fast.
The UST is constructed of Emfit electret film material that is exclusive only to BBand.
Because the B-Band UST is so thin and
very lightweight it does not interfere with
the signal passing through to the body of
the instrument retaining the instruments
original acoustic sound. The construction of
the UST is a long consistent structure that
ends with a connector for easy plug-in fitting to the preamp without soldering.

AST (1470)
The B-Band AST is made of the same exclusive Emfit material found in the UST but
designed to fit at the bridge plate or soundboard of the instrument. The AST has a very
wide frequency response and dynamic
range to capture all the tone details of an
acoustic instrument. It has all the advantages of a microphone without positioning
and feedback.
The AST is very thin, lightweight and
compact. Because of it size and the twoside tape on its back, it is easy to navigate
to fit anywhere inside an instrument without critical positioning. The construction of
the AST is a long consistent structure that
ends with a connector for easy plug-in fitting to the preamp without soldering.
Compatible with all B-Band preamps,
the AST can be used as a stand-alone
source or in combination with a UST with a
B-Band dual source preamp. AST can be
used with any acoustic instrument with
good access to the surface that it will be
mounted.

Guitar Preamps
HZZLess
The all new HzzLess preamp circuit is a
special design that not only reduces signal
noise but, because it integrates with B-Band
pickups more closely, it also increases the
signal output. All B-Band pickups are made
with the relatively new invention Emfit film.
The pickups have special properties and
now the B-Band developers have to come
up with a way to harness those special
specifications into a higher and cleaner output that can be better used by everyday professional sound electronics.
The results are an respectable 6dB higher signal output with a 9dB reduction in signal noise. The user will find how easy the
new louder volume will fit with their equipment and will be knocked out by the huge
tone that is produced. Clean and loud!
The HzzLess preamp circuit is now presented in the A1.2, A2.2, A3T and A5T
preamps. Soon to be applied to all B-Band
preamps.

XOM Circuit
The XOM (Cross Over Mix) system combines the best aspects of each pickup into
one complete source. By sensing the guitar
from two separate locations and combining
what each pickup does best, the XOM system has a very rich and complex sound that
further augments the already superior
sounding Emfit film pickups.
The ideal process for authentic acoustic
sound comes from combining the high frequencies of the AST and the low frequencies of the UST, making a sound that is
much more complex, true and pure. In addition, the XOM pan pot allows the player to
select between UST / AST mix and the UST
alone or one of the many possibilities inbetween for unlimited possibilities.
The player will find the XOM to be an
amazingly flexible sound manager resulting
in an elegant transparent tone at any performance level.

EQ Preamps for One Pickup

NEW FOR 2007- TUNER SERIES PREAMPS
A3T and A5T
B-Bands quality sound combined with a
fast, responsive chromatic tuner.
The A3T is new for 2007 but it still retains
the simple and small features that are big on
sound and intuitiveness. The compact
preamp has a 4-band rotary EQ, low battery
LED and a wide range chromatic tuner. The
EQ provide quick and accurate changes. The
chromatic tuner is fast and has a range that
will be welcomed buy customers that want
to tune a full step down from standard- great
for 12-string guitars too! The tuner will show
all notes, including sharps, great for standard and open tunings. The tuner has a single
window showing the pitch and four LEDs
showing the half step, sharp, flat and intune. 9-volt battery powered.
A3T

The A5T has more features including a slider

3-band EQ and volume control, notch filter
and frequency rotary controls, phase button,
low battery LED, and full range chromatic
tuner. The fully chromatic tuner has an LED
strip that shows the note and individual
LEDs showing the half step, sharp, flat, and
in-tune. The tuner is fast and responsive and
will tune to a full step down from standard

EQ Preamps for One Pickup

A7 and A9
The A9 is for the guitarist who takes a
straightforward approach to their sound and
wants more quality EQ possibilities and
feedback control at their fingertips. Easy to
use and view slider controls are used for the
extra smooth 4-band EQ that include bass,
middle, treble and presence bands. The volume slider is set at a right angle from the
EQ sliders to provide quick changes when
not viewing.
Set aside from the from the master control section, for easier application, is the
Notch Depth and Notch Frequency rotary
controls and a phase switch for feedback
suppression, plus a low battery LED. The
single input A9 can take advantage of either
the UST or AST transducers and is 9-volt
battery powered. The battery compartment
is conveniently mounted next to the controls
for easy access and battery changes.
The A7 has volume and 4-band EQ controls. The volume and tone controls are all
of the slider type. The single input A7 can
use either the UST or AST pickups and is 9volt battery powered. The battery compartment is conveniently mounted next to the
controls for easy access and battery changes.
The A7 and A9 dimensions allow for easy
replacement of either the smaller or larger

A8 and A10 with XOM*

The A8 and A10 preamps have two inputs for UST and AST, with XOM, with input trims for both, for accurate balance
adjustments, slider volume and 3-band
EQ controls. The A10 also features a
notch filter and frequency control and
phase button. Both active preamps are 9volt powered either by an onboard battery
or by the B-Box phantom power source.
The A8 and A10 dimensions allow for
easy replacement of either the smaller or
larger versions of common old-style
preamps. The battery compartment is

Onboard EQ Preamp for One Pickup

A11
The A11 is a single input, for UST or AST
pickup, 9-volt powered preamp and features active remote controls for volume,
treble and bass at standard rotary pots.
The preamp is easily mounted anywhere
inside the guitar. The system comes complete with the three pots on a long ribbon
wire, so the pots can be installed at the
soundboard, side, or shoulder of the guitar.
The system is useful for example for upgrading from other manufacturers threepot configurations. The A11 also works
well on solid body guitars that have acoustic bridge.

A2.2 with XOM*

The A2.2 with its dual input / single output
onboard preamp, for use with the
UST and AST combination excels in performance over any other preamp of this
type. The A2.2 includes the XOM technique
with mix control to bring the best of the
UST and AST characters together resulting
in a sound that is true to the guitars unique
voice in any performance venue.
The A2.2 is also great for resonator guitars with spider or biscuit bridges. Using
the A2.2 system in a resonator guitar is
simple. The UST pickup goes under the
saddle and the AST is simply attached to
the resonator cone. In this way both pickups pickup the sound like no other systemAt the Source! No other manufactured system does this. The control pad of the A2.2
simply mounts at the sound hole of the guitar. An optional 9-volt battery phantom
power supply is available.
The A2.2 has a small remote control pad
with a volume and mix control that mounts
without modification at the inside edge of
a guitar's soundhole. The preamp is housed
in a lightweight all-metal box and can be
mounted inside the guitar at the side or
back and is powered with a 9-volt battery.
At the preamp there are two input gain
trim controls for both the UST and AST to
match input levels. The entire system installs easily with very minor modificationsone small drill hole each for the pickup and
endpin jack. For fast connections all components plug in without soldering.

A1.2 / A1.2N-1470 with volume control

The A1.2 is the little brother of the now
classic B-Band Core / A2 preamps and is
big on classic B-Band sound. The single input A1.2 has a direct frequency response
with 24 dB of gain making a perfect fit with
the B-Band UST (not included). The 1470
AST can alternatively be fitted with the A1.2
if the user is looking for a more flat response than that if the A1.2N. Either way,
the sound reproduction is amazingly pure
and clear.
The B-Band A1.2N-1470 bundle includes
a special version of the A1.2 that has a
slight frequency notch of 6 decibels in the
low-midrange giving the system a smooth
acoustic sound at louder volume levels and
is packaged along with, and for use only,
with the 1470 AST. This gives the user great
tone at a great value. The A1.2N-1470 can
be used in any acoustic guitar, or similar
instruments, that has good access to their
interior.
Both the A1.2 and A1.2N come with a
volume control that simply mounts at the
inside edge of the sound hole with adhesive. The 9-volt battery powered electronics
are mounted in a small tube that is directly
coupled with a high quality endpin jack
making an all-in-one structure. As an option, the A1.2 or A1.2N can be phantom
powered with the B-Band external battery
box.
The structure is light in mass adding very
little weight to the instrument. Both kits include all mounting hardware, box-tight battery holder and wire harness.

POWER BATTERY BOX
The B-Band phantom power is a small external box that uses a standard 9-volt battery
to power any of the current 2007 B-Band
preamps. With the use of a standard 1/4
TRS to TRS (stereo to stereo) plug type cable, the battery box can send power to the
onboard preamp. If you do not want to have
a battery in your guitar, the preamp can be
phantom powered be the B-Box. The battery
box has a standard 1/4 output jack for cable
connection to a mixer or amplifier.

B-BAND SADDLE
The B-Band designed Tusq saddle by
Graph Tech Inc. is a version of the common
compensated "B" string saddle that improves the overall pickup balance for guitars
with a 2.9mm / 1/8" saddle slot. The design
makes all the string angles behind the saddle the same; making the downward pressure on the pickup even, while keeping the
"B" string intonation correct. This dramatically improves on the string-to-string balance for faster installation and set-up.

Drum Contact Mics and Preamps

The B-Band DM* series is the best miking

solution for drummers and will change the
way of miking a drum kit. The DM series
includes the DST* (Drum Shell Transducer)
transducer and DM preamps. Easily attached to any drum, without any modification, the DM system delivers an immediate
full-response tone without feedback or the
positioning issues associated with standard
microphones.
The DM system only picks up the sound
of the drum its attached to! There is no
bleed of sound from other drums or instruments on stage or in the studio, making for
incredible isolation of the drum that is using
the DM system.
Keeping with the B-Band philosophy, the
DM system is very lightweight and does not
add any noticeable weight to the drum. The
DM is unobtrusive and virtually invisible and
will not get in the way of any performing
style. Yet, even with these values, the transducer is very durable and robust, and will
endure rigorous touring. The DST will work
with any trap style drum.
The DM preamp range consists of three
different models: DM-S* with XOM for
snare, DM-T* for toms and DM-K* for bass
drum. All DM preamps fit easily to the drum
rim and are held in place by an adjustable
finger screw. The preamps have a standard
XLR output jack and are 48-volt phantom
powered.
The DM-S has two inputs, one input for
the DST and a 1/8 mini jack auxiliary input

for an optional dynamic microphone. When

the aux mic input is enabled, the B-Band
XOM circuit is activated and a 2 kHz high
pass filter is applied to DST and 2 kHz low
pass filter for microphone. XOM provides a
smooth and wider frequency range to the
blended sound. Four mini switches at the
preamp provide settings for the control of
tone and optional 9-volt phantom power
supply to an extra condenser mic. Four mini
switches at the preamp provide settings for
the contour of tone and for use of extra dynamic mic.
The DM-T is a single input preamp and
will work with any size rack or floor tom. The
DM-T has four mini switches for controlling
the tone on the output signal.
The DM-K is a single input preamp and
has four mini switches for controlling the
tone of the output signal.

Double Bass Pickups and Preamps

D1 DOUBLE BASS SYSTEM
The D1 system's sound is warm, tight, and
dynamic and has plenty of headroom to
play your instrument loud!
The D1 double bass has been developed
in close coordination with technicians and
artists. The D1 system includes a simple
and unobtrusive active preamp that is an
all-in-one construction with the 1/4"output
jack. This attaches easily onto the two middle strings between the bridge and tailpiece. The 9-volt battery clip simply attaches to the tailpiece with Velcro.
The B-Band D1 system also includes
three easy-to-install transducers* and are
placed two at the wing slots of the bridge,
using non-adhesive cork shims, and the
third under the foot of the bridges bass
side, using the string pressure on the
bridge to hold it in place. Inside the preamp
there is a user mix control to set the balance between the bridge and the body
sound for exact replication of your instruments unique tone.

The outstanding sound reproduction of the BBand transducer is based on the technology of
a novel, worldwide, patented high-tech electret
film exclusive to B-Band and is manufactured in
the spirit of true acoustic instrument aficionados.
The Emfit material is very different from piezo-electric films and transducers and is entirely
unique in the industry. How is it different? We
could go into a long discussion about the technical aspects, like the microscopic lens-like gas
bubbles inside the permanently charged film
but the most important difference is the sound.
Whereas piezo pickups tend to impart a sound
of their own (often described as quacky or
plastic), B-Band transducers act in much the
same way a condenser microphone does. This
