Alan Turing was born in London on June 23, 1912. Turing had one brother named John. His parents names were Julius Mathinson Turin (Dad) and Ethel Sara Turin (Mom). In his childhood Turing did not get to see his parents much because they were always traveling between other places in England and India. While his parents were gone, Turing and his brother stayed at an army couples house. At the age of six Turing was enrolled in St. Michaels day school. Many teachers began to notice Turings talent in studies. When thirteen, Turing started going to Sherborne School, which was a well-known school. He was so determined to go to school that he used to ride his bike, alone, sixty miles to his school. At school, Turing was not a favorite of the teachers, because he only specialized in math and science. The teachers at Sherborne wanted him to be good at all subjects, not just the ones he liked. When he turned sixteen, Turing was introduced to the work of Albert Einstein. He was very interested in Einstein and he read a lot of his famous works. Turing then went to Kings College and got a first-class honor in math. Turing then went to Princeton and got
more honors there. After college Turing
invented the Turing Machine. The Turing Machine helps scientists to figure out the limits of mechanical computation. Turing died on June 8, 1954 because of cyanide poisoning. Alan Turing was a huge contributor to science because he invented many things. He invented four amazing devices during world war two that allowed the US to translate coded messages from other countries. They were called the Turing-Welchman Bombe, the Hut 8 and Naval Enigma, the Turingery, and the Secure Speech Device. He also invented the Turing Machine. The Turing Machine is an amazing invention, and it is still use. The Turing Machine allows scientists to figure out limits of mechanical computation, as said before. Turing also invented the LU Decomposition, which is used in math. It allows you to solve problems that have things called matrixes in them. It is very helpful, and is used today by computers to solve square linear equations. Alan Turing was very helpful, and he invented a lot of things. Hopefully, he will be remembered in the future.
