(Pat. Pend.)
AN EXCLUSIVE OPTIONAL FEATURE OF THE HIGH VOLOCITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERIES...THE ONLY EFFICIENT METHOD OF LIFTING AND
POSITIONING ANY INDUSTRIAL AIR CURTAIN DURING INSTALLATION.
INSTALLATION ADVANTAGES:
When suspension mounting an air curtain, a common problem is the existence of
overhead pipes, conduits, beams, etc. which impede the alignment and mounting of
an air curtain.
The exclusive Leading Edge Smart-Trac Mounting System allows for six-way
adjustment at the cabinet to compensate for possible overhead obstacles. This
mounting method also allows for efficient elevation and positioning of the air
curtain during installation.
Competitors models, with pre-drilled mounting holes, lack the flexibility of
Smart-Trac. Their mounting method for installation does not compensate for
overhead obstacles and alignment. The installer must make such adjustments at the
beam rather than at the cabinet. This operation is both cumbersome and timeconsuming and often left to the discretion of the installer. Smart-Trac saves both
time and installation costs.

Applications:
For use in warehouses, manufacturing plants and other large facilities with continuously open doors or privide supplemental heat when operated with doors
closed.
Heated air curtains are not designed to hold 100% of incom ing cold air, as the
required air velocity generated would be uncomfortable to patrons. The incoming
cold air is entrained in the warm curtain of air, thus maintaining comfort levels.
Heated units also reduce the wind chill effect of personnel walking through or
standing near openings.
Special Features:
New modular designed cabinet allows 8 to 48 kilowatts of heating capacity, in
lengths ranging from 42 to 144 inches.
Large, easily accessible pre-wired control box is side mounted and features a
hinged swing down access panel.
Easily visible indicator lights on control panel alerts operator when power to
the unit is on and when fan and heat are operating.
Helical coil heating element modules are easily replaceable.
Heating elements are thermally protected and include a pilot light feature.
Hinged element control panel is located in front of nozzle and swings down for
servicing.
Available in:
Can be operated with or without heat for winter and summer operation.

Figure 1 illustrates flush wall mounting using cabinet keyholes. Bolts may be secured through wall or adequately
fastened to wall using anchors (Mounting template provided for efficient installation).
Figure 2 illustrates that installation requires the addition of metal support brackets across the existing transom. This
support should be spaced according to existing cabinet keyholes (Metal support brackets supplied by installer).

Smart-Trac is attached to the I-beams (Installer supplied).
BAFFLE INSTALLATION
Installation of
Side Baffles
Fig. 10
Figure 10 illustrates baffle installation. When a separation of over 12 inches between wall and air curtain cabinet
exists, it may be necessary to install side baffles. These baffles prevent gaps in air curtain protection created by
separation from wall (Installer supplied).

Example: An air curtain is to be installed at a doorway in an air-conditioned commercial business in Orlando, FL.
The store is open from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. The 8 x 3 door is kept open during business hours. The
store is kept at 75F, the cooling season is from May through October and the air conditioning unit has an EER of 11
Btu/Watt-hour. The estimated cost of electricity is $0.075 per kWh.
