Appeal for Financial Assistance for Rain/Flood affected People of Sind

You may be aware that due to the recent catastrophic rains in Interior Sindh, people at large are
suffering from tremendous hardships as their crops have suffered colossal damages and they
have lost all their belongings, shelter and livestock. In addition to shortages of food supplies, the
crops on which peoples livelihood depended have also been completely destroyed in the floods.
Their savings is depleting fast and the land that was to be harvested in the next quarter of the
year is inundated with over 5 feet of flood water. If this water is not drained out by using diesel
powered motors available on rent motors in a timely manner, it is feared that the land may be
waterlogged for the next several years putting the future of flood affected persons on stake.
Even though the Government is making efforts to address the problems, the magnitude of
devastation suffered by the flood victims is enormous. It may not be possible to address all the
issues being faced by them by the Government alone, its time to come out for our own people ,
for their help as much as we can.
Thinking on the same line, while I was passing on road side of my village, I have identified a
project in my personal capacity with the guidance of the local farmers to provide financial help to
them. In this regard, farmers in Deh (Chak) 195 Tando Jan Muhammad Tehseel Digri Zila
Mirpurkhas Sindh and its surrounding areas, where land is inundated with over 5 feet of flood
water, need estimated donations of Rs. 300,000 to drain rain water by using diesel powered
pumps on rental basis. The payment will be made to the persons providing pumps and diesel
and in case funds are available, seeds will be provided to the farmers. To add transparency and
facilitate donors, an account No. has been opened with MCB Bank, Main Branch, I. I.
Chundrigar Road, Karachi.

After completion of the project, financial record and details of

achievements will be sent to each donor separately.

It is my personal request to all Bank employees to come forward and contribute towards helping
our people so that they are able to revive their livelihood and are able to support themselves in
