DUTIES TYPICALLY INCLUDE:


Create opportunities for achievement through learning.
Establish contact with the local community. With the appropriate support reach and engage with traditional non- participants.
Target individuals and groups within the designated community to provide a range of appropriate learning opportunities. This involves being
supported to design opportunities responding to the identified learning needs of individuals and groups using a range of appropriate methods and
techniques.
Involve participants in planning and review of their learning opportunities.
Support and implement a range of learning opportunities which would engage the wider community for example a menu of services available for
young people or adults
Promote and market learning opportunities.

Create opportunities for achievement through Community Capacity Building


Establish contact with the local community and provide support to identify needs focusing on their concerns and aspirations within that community.
Under the direction of the Senior Community Learning & Development Worker, empower the participants through providing support to enable them
to work towards their goals.
Involve participants in planning, delivery and evaluation of their opportunities.
In conjunction with your Line Manager, provide support to community Learning an development staff and volunteers
In conjunction with your line manager
Recruit and appoint staff and volunteers to work in relevant area.
Manage locally based staff and volunteers in line with support supervision guidelines
Provide day to day supervision of staff and volunteers, which involves instructing the work to be carried out, providing advice, guidance, undertaken
EDRS and monitor work performance
Complete, monitor an review the contract for volunteers engaged in the delivery of Community Learning and Development
Provide on the job training for staff and volunteers and ensure their professional development needs are met by securing appropriate training from
other providers for example child Protection Training is carried out for all volunteers and staff.
Ensure staff are aware and working to appropriate policies associated with Aberdeenshire Council

In conjunction with line manager, manage, organise and secure resources.


In conjunction with you line manager,
Manage the deployment and security of equipment and physical resources, for example ensuring appropriate procedures are followed regarding
loans of equipment
Identify and secure funding and resources through supporting community groups to complete funding bids and monitor the use of funding an
resources once it is secured
Identify and obtain the necessary resources required to deliver quality activities and projects.

In conjunction with line manager, develop, participate and support partnerships


In conjunction with you line manager,
Provide support and guidance to the appropriate Community Development Group through reporting either verbally or in written format on their work
being carried out within the network, this would include any financial information required.
Establish interagency links with other professionals working in the local area from the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Participate and work within a multi-agency team to address the wider issues and community needs where appropriate.
Contribute to the local Community Planning agenda where appropriate.

Record and evaluate work using the Quality Framework


Adhere to the Community Learning & Development Quality Assurance Framework to record, plan and evaluate all work. This would include the
recording of face to face sessions, development of job targets against which progress would be monitored on a 6 weekly basis and the
development of a team plan, which would be reviewed annually.
Provide feedback and share information to a range of audiences.

In conjunction with your line manager assess risk.


In conjunction with your line manager, carry out risk assessments for all Community Learning and Development activities in the relevant area to
monitor the safety of all Community Learning and Development activities in the relevant area.
