Final Concentration
250 mM Tris
1.92 M glycine
1% SDS
with dH2O

Add Tris, then Glycine and make up the solution to close to the desired final volume. Then add SDS and
stir for 10 minutes. Make up the volume of the solution to the desired volume (1L or 4L) and stir for 2-3
minutes.
SDS is a detergent. Handle it with care and take preventative measures to prevent the SDS from going
into the air.
Check the pH of the solution. The pH of the buffer should be between 8.1-8.5. DO NOT ADJUST PH

WITH ACID OR BASE!!!
