Instructions to Learner:
Given an IP address space, you are required to implement an appropriate
addressing scheme using VLSM to ensure minimum waste of addresses. The
business will have various sized LANs. Documentation to provide to the
company should show how calculations were made throughout the VLSM
process. You are to present your Completed Report to the company director.
You will submit 2 documents for assessment: the report in Microsoft Word or
Adobe PDF format and the PKA [Packet Tracer] file. THE SIGNED BRIEF
MUST ACCOMPANY THESE 2 DOCUMENTS.
General Guidelines:
Start from the largest subnet
Find subnet 0
Document IP addresses saved in the Network Design [e.g. Subnet Table
& Addressing Table]
Produce at least one Visual Representation of the network
Your Work Should Demonstrate:
A knowledge of Subnet ID and Broadcast Addressing
A knowledge of allocating and quantifying usable host ranges
In Packet Tracer, Your Tasks Are To:
Level 5
2. BMicro has a central office with 130 hosts, and three remote sites, with 6, 12
and 25 hosts. The remote sites are connected to the central office by WAN
links. They have been assigned a network address of 149.81.0.0/16. Please
develop an appropriate subnetting plan for their internetwork and apply to
Packet Tracer.
3. Thruput has IP network 204.20.20.0/24. They have six sites, each with
respective size networks of 92, 60, 30, 14, 12 and 6 hosts. Taking into account
that these networks are arranged in full mesh topology fashion, determine an
appropriate IP addressing scheme and apply to Packet Tracer.
