ORGANIZING TIPS

My Top Ten Organizing Tools ©2010 Jackie Paulson

 Clear Bins: You can see what is stored without even opening

the lid, plus you do not have to dig through to see what is at

the bottom of the bin.

 Label Maker: Eliminates guesswork about what is inside or

where something belongs

 Hanging Files: Remember horizontal=hidden. Store your

papers vertically where they can be easily accessed.

 Large, opaque, heavy duty Trash Bags: Great for purging.

Also discourages you from dumpster diving in your tossed or

donated items.

 Cross Cut Paper Shredder: Place it near your mail center and

shred any discards containing private information which

could be used in identity theft.

 Wall Calendar with large date spaces: Lets you keep track of

appointments, practices, work schedules, social events at a

glance. A simple, low tech planning tool that the whole

family can access.

 Turntables or Lazy Susans: Great for storing canned goods,

jars, and bottles in a pantry or cabinet. No more forgotten

cans of soup hidden at the back of a shelf.

 Sturdy, consistent Hangers: Trust me. Using single

color/style hangers will transform the look of your closets. It

does not matter - all white plastic or all wood or all

aluminum tubing, your closets will instantly look great.

Recycle your wire hangers at the dry cleaners.

 A Buddy: Someone who will keep you on task while you

organize. Invaluable.

 Computer: Provides you with a wealth of organizing

resources via the internet.
