REF: APPROVED ISSUED DATE CUM. SR.NO, Hardwar letter HW/TSx/479/89/RB/3132 wc (w) | CORP. R&D | Sep.'90. 0633 GENERAL TOLERANCES FOR FOR LENGTHS AND ANGLES 1.0 GENERAL + 1.1 General tolerances are permissible variations corresponding to the degrees of accuracy normally observed in workshops where details of tolerances are not provided in the drawings. 1.2 The general tolerances specified in this standard apply to dimen- sions for which the tolerances are indicated on the nominal dimen- sions for welded components, welded assemblies and WELDEO STRUCTURES. 13 The variations apply to LINEAR DIMENSIONS such as outside dimen- sions, inside dimensions, stepped dimensions, widths, Centre-to- Centre distances and also ANGLES. 1 Special rulings may be stated for linear dimensions of welded structures consisting of several assemblies. 1S This standard is based on DIN 8570 Part 1 & Russian norm OBK 610.05H. 1.6 General tolerances for machined components are covered in Corporate Standard AA 023 02 08. 17 Refer Corporate Standard AA 062 11 05 for general tolerances for welded structures - Form And Position. SCOPE : “COPYRIGHT AND CONFIDENTIAL, ‘The information on this document isthe property of BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED. 2.1 This standard prescribes four degrees of accuracy based on diffe~ Fences arising out of function and manufacture of welded components, assemblies and structures. For technical and economic reasons other degrees of accuracy may be appropriate which have to be specifically stated. : DEVIATIONS = ‘Ik must not be used directly or indirectly ia any way detrimental to the intereat ofthe company. 3-1 The values of deviations for different classes of accuracies for linear dimensions are given in Table 1. 32 Table 2. gives the deviation values for angles. (Refer page 6 of 6 of this standard) TESTING = The actual size of an angular structural component is determined by placing suitable measuring {instruments tangentially on the welded part so that the zone affected by the weld Is eliminated, The variation is obtained from the difference between the dimen- ston in the drawing and the actual size, TABLE:1 PERMISSIBLE VARIATIONS IN LINEAR DIMENSTONS Degrs accut Nominal Dimension Range (mm) Over Over | Over |Over | Over | Over ee of, 30 | 120] 315 | 1000 }2000 | 4000 | 8000 racy | up to| upto | upto | upto ‘upto / upto | upto 120 1000 | 2000 |4000 | 8000 | 12000 ati ad] 22 t4 ] 25) 26 ]e7] 28 [ao 22] 22} 23 26 [+8] 410/212) 2% | 2 16 +3] 24] 26 £16) 2 16] 21] + 24 | 2 27 A 8 k c D 4] 27] 29 +16 | + 21] s 27| « 32] 36 | + 40 A permissible variation of + 1 mm applies to dimensions up to 30 mm TAGLE:2 PERMISSIBLE VARIATIONS IN MARKED ANGLE MEASUREMENTS Nominal dimension range (un) (Length of shorter side) Degree of [up to 315 over 315 accuracy up_to 1000 Permissible variation in degrees and minutes + 20° 215! + 10" lo 45? 230" 10+ zie 2 45° 30° 2 12 30" 21° 15" 1° Permissible variation in mn/m* 26 24.5 23 23 +9 +6 +18 213 29 226 + 22 +18 The factor for mn/m to am/100 mm, corresponding to DIN 7168 Part 1 is 0.1 creas yan. ‘be used directly or indirectly in any way detrimental tothe interest of the ion on thir document ia the property of BHARAT HEAVY ELE‘ The a ———- ‘The information on this document is the property uf BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED. ly im any way detrimental to the iaerest of the company.
