PREDICTION OF HYDRODYNAMIC LOADS

1. INTRODUCTION
Offshore structures can be roughly divided into two groups. Firstly, the structures those
that are large in comparison to the wave length of a wave typical of their environment,
such as gravity structures. Secondly, those that are composed of structural elements those
are small in comparison to the wave length, such as jacket structures. The first modify the
shape of the wave as it passes the structure, the second are transparent to the wave.
