SAMPLE TASK DESIGN FOR SCIENCE GRADE-7

Subject Matter: Solar System


Learning Objectives: At the end of the sixty-minute period, the students will
be able to:
1. identify the planets in the solar system and its features;
2. share the importance of solar system to humankind through oral
recitation;
3. create a model of the solar system using any of the materials
available.
Task Procedures:
1. Have the students identify each of the planets in the solar system
using pictures.
2. Out of the pictures given, let the students jot down the physical
features of the planets. Afterwards, let them differentiate each of
them through oral recitation.
3. Given the styro balls, aluminum wire and paint, the students are
going to make a model of the solar system considering their
features and facts.
4. The students will have to make the task in 30 minutes and present
it to the class.

Subject Matter: Lunar Phase


Learning Objectives: At the end of a sixty minute period, the students will be
able to:
1. Identify lunar phase and its movements;
2. Share the importance of lunar phase through oral recitation;
and
3.

Perform the movements of lunar phase through group


presentation.

Task Procedures:
1. Group the students into five.
2. Let them perform the movements of lunar phase through the use of
their body.
3. Then, allow them to conceptualize and strategize as to how they are
going to perform the movements in a creative way.
4. Let them have their own style of presenting the task.
