Our activity today is to take the objectives/outcomes from the lesson

you created a rubric for (teacher centered assessment) and now

create two (interesting and challenging) student centered
assessments using examples from your reading.
Assessment Strategy 25

Thumbs up, Thumbs down

Students indicate the presence or quality of a criterion by a thumbs- up
or thumbs-down gesture. This particular method works well as an
introduction to critique strategies.

Observation Game
Students study an original piece of work for a few minutes. The image
is removed and students are asked to write down everything they
remember.
In class we showed a mini fun animated clip of the Egyptian Pyramids.
The students will only see the first 15 minutes of the clip, after that the
teacher will close down the page and ask the students to say what
they remember from the clip.
Where was the excavator? Location and more specifically where was
he IN?
What was he wearing?
What instruments did he have in his hand?
What was he doing?
Where else can excavators be seen?
Why do excavators exist? What is their purpose?
What are other things that can be found?
What do you think he found?
