Complications

Complications of nerve surgery are similar to those of other types of surgery and include infection,
hematoma, seroma, and injury to surrounding structures, including vascular structures. Unique to nerve
surgery is the possibility of downgrading function by further injuring the nerve, particularly in mixed nerve
injuries.
