Thomas Reflection
Our visit to Albany Park was quite unique from any visit Ive made in the past
because its really diverse. Even though I lived in Chicago all my life, Ive always
thought it was for the most part segregated because some people and the media
made it seem that way. It made me curious about how diverse this neighborhood
actually is because we only had a limited amount of time to explore, and I really
wanted to explore every part of it due to its diversity alone; we might see new
people or things we havent ever seen before which is always great. This was an
authentic Chicago experience because Chicago is filled with different kinds of
people.

Arielles Reflection
I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Albany Park. I had never even heard of
this small quaint town outside the city of Chicago, but it certainly is a
treasure. Albany Park is incredibly diverse, which already is known.
However, truly experiencing the diversity of the town was amazing. I
feel that I was able to get a sense of the towns diversity simply by
watching the different people, seeing what kinds of restaurants were
around, and hearing different languages being spoken. I was glad I
ended up with Nora and Thomas and I feel that experiencing Albany
Park together was a fun and unique experience.

Noras Reflection
I was very excited for my experience in Albany Park. Ever since I was a little girl I
have been coming to Chicago to visit my cousins. They each attended Loyola and
have fueled my interest in exploring the Chicago community, however I was never
able to see much more than the Loop and Rogers Park. Being able to see a Chicago
neighborhood that wasnt off of the magnificent mile was a really cool experience.
Albany Park is a really diverse community that offers plenty of interesting places
to explore. Learning about hot spots in the neighborhood, especially the Theatre
Project, was very cool and made the experience relatable and well worth the trip.
This opportunity has taught me just how much the city has to offer and I am
looking forward to going back in the future and learning about other Chicago
neighborhoods.
