5 : vareet dt Pratas - nectar eras Shashi Kant Sharma FRU COMPTROLLER & AUDITOR GENERAL OF INDIA MESSAGE am happy to know that the Central Vigilance Commission is observing Vigilance Awareness Week on the theme “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance” from 26% to 31% October 2015 Accountability and transparency are two important pillars of good governance, and without them effective and responsive government is not possible. They provide the necessary framework for combating corruption in administration. Corruption is a serious and complex malaise which is to be fought with multifaceted strategies. Preventive vigilance is one such strategy. It aims at constant review of rules, procedures and practices which are Susceptible to corruption. Over the years, the Central Vigilance Commission has taken a lot of initiatives to introduce the concept of Preventive Vigilance among the Government entities. | wish that the Vigilance Awareness Week be a great success and extend my warm greetings and felictations to the entire Central Vigilance Commission fraternity. ee?
