Technological Advances

A Perio, Pros and Endo perspective

Endodontic Advances: Sorting the gems from the gimmicks
Industry publications contain advertisements and testimonials about new
techniques and advances in endodontics. Claims such as 'virtually
unbreakable', and 'superior leakage protection' are some examples. This
lecture will give an insight into how best to distinguish between marketing hype
and clinical reality. When should we make the leap to a new, possibly
unproven technology?

Prosthodontic Advances: Where to next?

Prosthodontic techniques are often viewed as old
fashioned and conservative. However, with developing
technological improvements, prosthodontic services can
be delivered with cutting edge technology. Several cases
will be presented which demonstrate the use of CAD-CAM
in the delivery of prosthodontic treatment

Periodontic Advances: What Marty McFly brought back in his Delorian?

Despite over 50 years of periodontal research, the fundamentals
of periodontal therapy have changed very little. New ideas have
come and gone. Despite this, the future of periodontal practice
is full of hope for better diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
Commercial pressures, however, often confuse the truly
beneficial with the quest for the cutting edge.
