Objective :
1. To analyze the basic billing system and the main functionalities that
surround the billing system
2. To identify how billing system can reflect on the company
performance
3. To deploy automated payment, accounting, recurring and user
friendly web based billing system
Project scope:

Due to resources constrains (Time and finance) the scope of my study will
be limited to Somali Data Network (SDN) company as case study.

Background:

A growing trend of Hosting companies is to charge customers for value

added services in addition to charging a flat rate for basic services.
Customers will pay for resources consumed.
Web Hosting companies need an effective and accurate billing system to
be able to assure their revenue. The billing process involves receiving
billing records from various networks, determining the billing rates
associated with the billing records, calculating the cost for each billing
record, aggregating these records periodically to generate invoices,
sending invoices to the customer, and collecting payments received from
the customer.
Online Billing system is very complex starting from network elements that
generate usage to the billing system to usage collection, mediation, rating,
and invoicing .
