Gender Stereotypes
There have always been gender stereotypes. We see them everyday in
commercials, and as well sometimes in public. For women society has been setting
certain images for how they must look, in order to be accepted by everyone. It is similar
for men as well. Society has set that men must be tall and muscular. We see these
stereotypes start off in Tv shows or sometimes in commercials. My reason for choosing
this topic is because I think everyone shouldnt be judged because they dont look a
particular way. Each person has their own unique way of standing out which shouldnt
be put down because they dont look like Kim Kardashian or Kanye West. There has
been more stereotypes in commercials as well. For example in most of the Carl Jr
commercial they set certain images that women must look for men. That is why I think
that commercials should change messages underneath each commercial. I believe that
the FCC should have control on what is being shown on Tv. It affects everyone and how
each person feels about themself. Not only that but celebrities shouldnt change their
look once they get famous because they would show that anyone can get where they
are. I think that both celebrity images and commercials contribute to gender
stereotypes. Which should be changed by changing how everything is done on tv. It
would be a start if commercials changed how they portrayed each gender in particular
way.
