PROJECT AGENDA

Meeting #1:
- Discussion of initial project and the problem at hand
- Distribution of roles per member (including their jobs for the continuation of the
project)
- Potential warehouses to use
- Individual research of warehouses around New York City, then consensus
reached
- Demographics, history and statistics of agreed location are researched
Meeting #2:
- Recap of roles and location of Red Hook Grain Terminal
- Research of the population of residents of Red Hook and their communal needs
that must be fulfilled
- Group discussion to agree on purpose for warehouse
- Current conditions of the factory and what we have to work with
Meeting #3:
- Recap and summary of prior meetings
- Benefits of using Red Hook Grain Factory
- Improvements that must be made to make factory safe and liveable
- Construct list of problems and issues that must be fixed
- Brainstorm methods to solve the safety issues (How can we fix the warehouse
to make it suitable for construction?)
Meeting #4:
- Summarize roles, progress made, and what we must do
- Replacement of unstable materials with new, secure materials
- Research the legal safety and structural regulations for the building to be safe
- Address the electrical, circulatory, and plumbing fixtures and how we can improve
them
- Discuss the environmental factors that may harm the buildings facade
(particularly the flooding of neighboring rivers)
- Suggest new forms of energy, such as harnessing hydroelectric energy from
rivers and using solar panels

PROJECT AGENDA
Meeting #5:
- Recapitulate our progress and what else must be finished
- Redefine the needs of the community to specify the most pressing need of the
community
- Discuss functions of the 12 floors that will be most beneficial for the
neighborhood
- Detailed description of each floor function, what each floor will consist of, how it
will benefit Red Hook
Meeting #6:
- Reiterate progress of prior meetings
- Start 1st drafts of floor plans based on the needs of the community residents
- Discuss floor plans and how they can be improved upon
- Start the powerpoint pertaining to the neighborhood, its history, demographics,
culture, etc.
Meeting #7:
- Finalization of floor plans
- Complete slides on our individual role
- Describing and detailing floor functions onto powerpoint (add example pictures
for each floor function, add floor plans for each floor, etc)
- Retouching of entire powerpoint (changing color palette, font, picture editing)
- Review of roles and practice of presenting powerpoint
