Motivation Letter

I am a fourth year medical student and I would like to apply in

the Transplantation department. The subjects I have already studied
during these years are Microbiology, Clinical Pathology, Anatomy,
General Pharmacology, General Pathological Anatomy, Radiology,
Musculoskeletal, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System,
Gastrointestinal
System,
Urogenital
System,
Endocrine,
Neurobehavior,
Reproductive
and
Growth
Development,
Hematology, Oncology, Tropical Medicine, Skin and Special Senses,
Histology, and Immunology.
I learned a lot about theories in my medical school, but for
practical, we just try on mannequin or with other friends. Besides,
since I am a fourth year student, I can become an observer in a
teaching hospital. That is one of my main reasons that encourage
me to apply to this department. This program offers me the
opportunity to integrate my knowledge to the reality.
I choose Transplantation surgery is because I never learned
about his in my medical school, this subject is just to know
superficialis for general practice. And I think since it is one of the
interesting thing that a medical doctor has to know. Moreover, my
country, Indonesia, just a few hospital that has a transplantation
surgery. Although is one of the most populated countries in the
world. In my country it still a rare thing to do a transplantation
surgery, but I think we can do as the last choice to save someone
life, if they need to be transplanted. So, it challenged me to learn
more about Transplantation surgery. And also in treating them, it is
not only about how to make them healthy, but also we have to
know, listen to them, and caring them holistically. It is a great
opportunity to learn about cases, and also learn how is the skill. It is
not only about how to operate, but also how to manage the patient
holistically. Although I have not any experience in surgery
procedures or other medical procedures, I would hope to being
given to help in physical examination, some medical procedures,
and is allowed to scrubbed in. This is a good chance to improve my
practical knowledge rather than my theoretical knowledge.
This program also give me a chance to learn more about
medical education and health care systems in other countries, gain
more experiences, exchange knowledge each other, and practice
my English. Thank you for considering my application for the
clerkship at Transplantation Surgery department.
