Reflective Report- Rutvi Kotecha Nainital Trip 201415

Finally it was the day 22nd November Saturday and

the clock ticked 6:00 pm and I was fully ready to
enjoy and experience the amazing adventure that
we were about to start at 7:30 by boarding the
train in 2 mins but it was a fun moment when we
realised that we had just climbed the train in 1 min.
we started our journey by adjusting in the train
with all our full fledged luggage and also us. It was
too time consuming but not too difficult with the
co-operation of the students with the teachers and
other students.
As the journey continued it became difficult for all
of us to argue with the locals from Rajasthan for
our seats which had been made easy for the girls
by our teachers but still we had to try on keeping
our seats and it was a learning experience for me
which taught how to tackle situations. It had
become more exciting but tough to bring dinner
for my group of 9 by us 3 knowing that our train
had reached the Delhi station late and we only had
30 mins to cross platforms and a lot of traffic at the
railway station and bring dinner from Macdonalds.

Some girls from our group were scared due to

some incidents that took place in the train so we
decided that 4 of us would be awake till 5 in
morning to take care of the luggage and also enjoy
so we all adjusted in 7 seats where 4 were sitting
and rest 5 were sleeping by 2 in each birth which
again taught me adjustment in any tough
conditions. This journey was continued by having
amazing hot coffee in the morning when we
reached our hotel in Nainital The Shervani Hill
Top. The journey to Nainital was super amazing
and we also noticed climatic changes from Rajkot
being cool, Rajasthan being cold, and Uttarakhand/
Nainital being the coldest. We also observed
different types vegetation that was deserts,
amazing Aravalis and conical and maple trees.
Then the actual learning experience started when
we visited department of geology in nainital where
Mr. Pant briefed us and explained us about the
geogrophical places and formation of some

landforms in Nainital. We also saw many rock

samples .
We also learnt time management when we were
left alone for shopping and told that we could do
only 2 things in the time allotted that was going to
Tibetian market or boating or Bada Bazaar but our
group managed to do all three and also visited the
gurudwara and completed all of it in the time
allotted. Now there was the big challenge in front
of us which was THE TIFFIN TOP TREK . First
when we climbed the slope near to our hotel I was
a little bit tired and seeing 5 people giving up and
going back I was a little bit demotivated but then I
decided to continue with the trek. In the middle I
again did face some problems in breathing in the

cold weather at a high altitude but then giving up

after reaching that level was never an option for
me so without thinking anything I continued
however I could, and after reaching the spot I felt
so proud of myself knowing that I had not given up
in any difficult situation and that really inspired me
for any work I thought was difficult but yet possible
so I had to do it. While we were returning we were
addressed that we had to find our own way back to
the hotel which was not very difficult made me
more excited and that was an experience worth
everything . We walked back in our groups singing
amazing songs and also racing and laughing in
between which made it more fun. Yes we again did
face some problems on the way back due to some
people but the best weapon which worked was
ignoring and avoiding all that and reaching the
hotel which was successfully completed by us, and
then the amazing lunch after such a long trek gave
us all satisfaction and energy. Then the next day
there was an another trek planned to Himalay
Darshan which was actually not a trek but a
pleasure walk with friends, music ,talks and lots of
energy where again we had to find our way alone
back to hotel where we were the first group to
reach the hotel and that feeling was very amazing.
The cold weather in Nainital, long treks, tall

Himalayas and the hard work done there gave me

an inspiration to never give up at any condition
whatever it may be fight till the end or may be till
you win against that difficult situation. One more
amazing experience that I had experienced for the
first time in my life till now was of helping Jaydeep
sir and Sarvashreshth sir in arranging the luggage
of every teacher and student which was fun
instead of tiring. The journey continued and we
were on our way to Corbett where we had to visit
Ranikhet golf course and also have lunch there it
was not so much fun but thats fine because it is
not necessary for everything to be good in a trip
but then after reaching Corbett it was not less fun
when we all nine slept in one room where we had
arranged all our beddings on our own and also had
fun in the night I had never slept before in such a
way 9 in a room and also not brought beddings
from other room to our room in which our team
work, collaboration and every ones mutual
understanding helped us. Then it was time for
another amazing experience crossing the river
where it was flowing in opposite direction in which I
even fell down two times but as I had decided to
not to give up so I continued with the same and
successfully completed the crossing and was very
proud about my self doing something that I always

wanted to do but never thought I would do. On our

way back we had dinner in Kathgodam and then
went to the railway station where we had to board
the train for Moradabad which was scheduled at
2:30 am in the midnight so we had reached the
Moradabad station and all of us girls were adjusted
in the waiting room where it was very hot and
suffocating but I slept for one hour to get a bit
fresh and the sleep was worth it. Then we got so
much suffocated in the waiting room and we came
out and after seeing our faces Jaydeep sir thought
that we were very hungry so he brought some
chips and cold drinks for us at 4:30 in the morning
because our train was late for 5 hours and we
waited for 7 hours at the station which was fun but
still tiring. Then finally our train arrived at not the
platform allotted but at another platform so we had
to run with all our luggage and board the train in 1
minute which was again fun then we all adjusted
our selves and all slept in our seats we had lunch
from Mc donalds in the train where we were given
2 burgers and a bottle of soft drink between 2
people. That was also fun having burgers for
breakfast and lunch both. We had some fun and
then again some people slept. As time passed we
entered into Rajasthan and again as first many
locals from every station started coming and

occupying our seats but as we had experienced it

before we knew how to deal with them and we
were successful in making them vacant our seats.
Then after long time pass some beauty sessions
and a lot of crying and misunderstanding we had
our dinner which was pav bhaji from Jaipur and also
tasted really good after going through any
difficulties we faced in the journey. Next morning
we finally arrived at Ahmadabad railway station
and had a feeling of back to home there. We
boarded two buses and continued with the journey.
After 3 to 4 hours we entered Rajkot and every one
was happy to return back but very very sad that
the trip was over and now no more late night funs
with friends, no more difficulties in any way and no
more adjustments or helping. We wanted to go
back but didnt want to end the trip. Overall it was
an extraordinarily amazing trip with all fun and
difficulties that we experienced during the trip. It
was a life time memory that might always inspire
me to do anything that I find difficult.
A change that I really noticed in myself was that
after returning back from the trip we had to leave
for Mumbai by train and everyone was surprised
when I alone arranged all the luggage and also
helped in carrying it all throughout the station.
