born into a small trading family, biyani started his first


business enterprise selling stonewash fabric to small shops in
Mumbai.
Then tried his hand in multiple businesses sense faild. Some
were moderately successful but these contributed to his
understanding of customers and the foundation of the
organization.
Turning point was the advent of denims and acceptance of
ready made garments. And in 1997 they entered modern
retail and become the KING of the retails.
A staunch believer in the groups corporate credo, rewrite
rules, retain values, biyani considers indianness as the value
Driving the group. Today it operates around 16 million square
feet of retail space in over 85 cities and towns and 65 rural
locations across India. It employs around 35000 people .
