From two chapters on China in 21st Century, definition of crisis and


crisis management, as well as the process involved are identified,
studied and generalized from the scenarios of the case study
involved.

Crisis
Characteristics: Events that are Unpredictable and inevitable
Consequence: Trigger real, perceived or possible threat to safety,
health, the environment, or to organisations reputation and
credibility
Crisis Management
Goal: Minimize impact on organization by a crisis -Turn danger into
opportunity
Importance:
Crisis more complex and diverse; from terrorists attack to
problems and incidents inside healthcare organization.
Failure: Reputation destroy (unfavorable therapeutic
relationship), More catastrophic and far-reaching consequences
(resources)
