Changes in structure of committee of TDCC and running to be further
discussed as well as role of Chairman

8. The Future of the Chamber

HL is leaving and there is a question about how the Business Manager role
will continue, considering limited funds available.
Option 1. Continue TDCC as current but with revised committee
Option 2. Link with Wessex to take on management of TDCC
Website worked well but now needs to be taken to the next stage and
someone to take it on. Olawale has suggested that perhaps Wellington
could help with business support on this
Question put to committee what are their thoughts.
SW raised issue that Wessex membership is 200 minimum which is a great
deal more than the 50 TDCC charge for local membership, would new
members just interested in local events want to join with Wessex. Other
question is can we run TDCC membership in conjunction with Wessex how
would this work. Wessex has said that current TDCC members can continue
to stay on at 50 but will not get full membership of 200 members. Any new
members will be signed up as full Wessex members for 200.
SW said he hasnt had any benefit from being a member of Wessex
GT said you need to speculate to accumulate as he has been to many
Wessex events and they are very good businesses have to put the time in
to attend to reap the benefits.
OO suggested could we use Wellington Academy for meetings Wellington
would provide catering for cost and room (FOC) and would manage the event
on the day. Wessex could set up Eventbrite as usual to pay for teas/coffees
and biscuits in advance room would be provided FOC.

Also members would all have to go over to direct debit payments managed by
Wessex
Wessex/Inspire have many new changes taking place possible collaboration
with TEN and also HMRC collaboration and 1,000 vouchers to new
members for networking events and support and also they have a new
initiative to help new businesses get off the ground.
HL mentioned that Hampshire also keen to join us with us and have offered to
pay us 50 per member who joins with them. Open to discussion DW
suggested that we could have separate arrangements for Inspire and
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.
OO suggested all postcodes of businesses in our area should be
automatically referred to us for the 30
DW agreed we go forward in exploring Wessex proposal
Meeting on 19th Nov to discuss with members
DW suggested that we wind up old Ltd company as it costs us 130.00 for a
few lines we dont need to have links to companies house and list of
directors and we dont need to have an official AGM. SW not keen on the
idea and worried about negligence implications. GT - lets take advice on this.
HL mentioned liaising with Stonehenge as a joint venture but DW and GT said
not really a good option and not linked with Wessex HL received request
from Stonehenge wanting to form closer working links and share networking
Chairmans role to be developed going forward
Our 50 members will still get 6 networking meetings etc membership benefits
but not greater Wessex membership benefits.
Would Wessex let new local members join for 50.
Sue Julyan now taking on cashbook and paying in book
DW now has chequebook and internet banking access
