University is the best years of our life.

But the question

is, how do we make the most out of it? Well, to be honest, I havent an idea. For the
past one month, Ive seen people attending classes in their pyjamas, having night
treasure hunts and not forgetting, hectic lectures and tutorials. Is university life all
about that?
Well, to make the most out of university life, it is important that we learn to walk out
of our comfort zone, breakfree our limits and not be afraid to embrace the new
things that are borne to occur.
When I was at the age of 8, my parents brought my brother and I for our very first
swimming trip. I could remember that I was all excited about it. As soon as we
reached the resort, I quickly had my swimming costume donned and showered for
the pool. The shallowest pool available was the 2 meter pool. I hesitated to jump in
for quite some time. Out of a sudden, I felt a strong push against my back and
before I could realize, I had ended up myself in the pool. It was my mischievious
brother who had pushed me into the pool. I tried touching the bottom of the pool
with my feet but I could not reach it. I struggled in the water. Unable to hold my
breath any longer, I had induced large gulps of water and it was hurtful. My dad
came to my rescue. When I regained my composure, I told myself, that was it. I am
never going to get myself drown again. So, I watched my brother and the other kids
played happily in the pool. Not long after, the lifeguard came by and sat next to me
and he sed, The further you get away from yourself, the more challenging it is. Not
to be in your comfort zone is great fun.
It was then, I suddenly came to a realization that I shouldnt give up on trying the
new things that may seem risky and those that are borne to hurt me in life. I was so
strongly determined that I had attended swimming classes after that very incident.
Since then, I became a pretty good swimmer. I still spend some time swimming as
to relax and that very incident has taught me an invaluable life lesson.
You see, the only way to make the most out of the things you do is to take the first
step out of your comfort zone and not be afraid to try the new things that come by.
Dont let your fears drown out your inner potential.
