Distinguished guest ladies and gentlemen

Heres the thing: once upon a time, I was in the shower contemplating the
mysteries of the universe when a bug struck me the most powerful are our ideas:
democracy equality world peace are the most universal fiord then why are the
problems still exist why arent people using these ideas thats when I had possibly
the most shocking realization of my entire life- people simply dont care that is the
truth that is central its always happening in other country in another state or to my
neighbor
But as long as it doesnt concern me, Im just not bothered. but History has been
created by people like nelson Mandela martin luther king jr mother Theresa who
sacrificed their lives to make the best of ideas not yours, not mine, but our greatest
weapons. And so today, heres the question: How will you transform ideas from
being ideas that no one dares or cares to use into the greatest weapons that you
may ever have. The answer its about having incredible courage and infinite
selflessness to do it not for you not for me but for us. British plawring George
Bernard Shaw once said, It is my opinion that my life belongs to the community and
as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can how true. If there is a
boy dying in Somalia of hunger, it is our problem even though he is not our brother;
if there is a girl in Afghanistan being oppressed by the military junta even though
she is not our sister and if there are women protesting topless everywhere around
the world that is our problem even though they are not our wives. No matter what
the problem is there are no passengers on spaceship earth, each and every single
one of us are members of the crew. Perhaps the one person that showed me this in
my everyday life was inevitably my mom. There, my brother and I were stuck in
typical lunch Philippine traffic jam on our way from home to school. When a boy in a
school bus just in front of us coolly put out his arm out of the window and throw a
candy wrapper on the road. It was a kitkat wrapper I believe he needed a break.
Anyway other people in the jam saw the same thing and had the same thing how I
wish I could take that boy and spank some discipline into him. Guess what? My mom
actually did it. She got down from the car walked up to the bus picked that wrapper
up and handed it back from the window and said I think you dropped something
have a nice day and there my sister and I were going oh god it just had to be our
mom but that seemingly like a lot of the part of the illustrious much of the noble
truth I shed light today That when it comes to that ideas that will become our
greatest weapons very often we have little to gain short term and often risk a lot in
doing so I mean look at my mom theroad was not named after she didnt have to
do it her she didnt even get to eat the kitkat BUT she DID IT ANYway for us
similarly when it comes to ideas that will change the world when the moment of
truth arrives it will be terrifying and its ok to be scared but it is not ok to let our fear
cripple us when theres a world out there that so desperately needs someone to do
it for us because this is more than just about you and I this is do or literally die and

all the people need to reach for the sky is one person to lift them up and let them fly
and all of us here today destined to change the world can be that one. \
Ladies and gentlemen, one day we will all face with the choice to continue being
self-centered and studying history or to sacrifice selflessly and courageously and
write it and I understand that many human beings will not make that choice but I
am so privileged and proud to be standing here today speaking in front of a cull
who I know will be the ones to change the world and do it for us so if theres one
message to take home today be the one of eternal courage and selflessness to use
ideas as our greates weapon no matter whats the cost because this one is truly for
us and there will come a day when we no longer speak but simply sneak the other
side of lifes bottom but when we do it for us our ideas on this side will make our
lives immortal
