acknowledge their effort, valuing who they
are both as learners and as people. We
promote and value play as a powerful medium
for learning.

How will we document the learning through play?


Identify the types of play they are involved in:
Role Play, Event based, Exploratory, Fantasy/Imaginative, Coconstructed, Manipulative, Physical, Games with Rules
What are they pondering? What are their theories or misconceptions?
What do they understand?
What are the learning possibilities that can emerge from the play
experience? How can their thinking be moved forward?
Craft the new learning intention around the learning possibilities.

Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious


learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the
work of childhood.
