joist design in the program.

General
Two default design load combinations created by the program for steel joist
design are:
(DL) + (SDL)

Eqn. 1

(DL) + (SDL) + (LL) + (RLL)

Eqn. 2

where
(DL)

= Sum of all dead load applied to the joist.

(SDL) = Sum of all superimposed dead load applied to the joist.

(LL)

= Sum of all live load applied to the joist.

(RLL)

= Sum of all reducible live load applied to the joist.

You can replace or supplement these default design load combinations with
your own design load combinations, if desired.
