GOALS & OBJECTIVES PROJECT PROPOSAL : ACQUISITION OF RESCUE VEHICLE FOR DISASTER & EMERGENCIES Region Vit Province of Bohol Municipality of Balilihan : The Municipality of Balilihan is a fourth (4) income class municipality located 22 kilometers northeast of Tagbilaran City, Bohol’s capital, With meager financial resource, the town’s administrators since then, were curious in the selection and implementation of projects for its constituents, hence, if ever Possible, projects are made sure that it will be for multi-sectoral purposes. The occurrence of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake which badly hit Balilihan and some town of Bohol last October 15, 2013 enable the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and the local administrators to validate their needs and deficiencies in terms of rescue and life-saving facilities and equipment more especially that Balilihan has no hospital at present and where the nearest hospital to the town is approximately 12 and 22 kilometers for secondary and tertiary hospitals respectively. Had there been available rescue vehicles that time, the seven (7) lives of the Balilinhons who died that time could have been saved as their bodies could have been transported to the hospital for immediate treatment. For that, the Local Administrators decided to utilize the Performance Challenge Fund for Calendar Year 2012 to acquire a brand new rescue vehicle for disaster and ‘emergencies using the PCF for that purpose, hence, this design. 1.
