WEEK 2
Properties discussed in this section include
porosity, isothermal compressibility and fluid
saturation. Another properties already discussed in
mekanika reservoir and three above will rediscuss because its importance in fluid flow
calculation.

POROSITY
Defined as ratio of pore volume to total bulk
volume of the rock
The ratio expressed either as fraction or percent
The value is usually report as total or an effective
porosity

QUESTION
Mention any kind of porosity and which one more
important for petroleum engineer, explain it !

ISOTHERMAL COMPRESSIBILITY
Change in porosity in given rock depends only on
difference between the internal and external
pressure, not on the absolute value of the
pressure
Defined as change in pore volume per unit
change in pressure

FLUID SATURATION
The ratio of the volume that a fluid occupies to
the pore volume
Expressed as fraction or percentage
