I hail from Sta. Rosa, Laguna, a first class city in the province of Laguna, Philippines.

Because of the various business structures situated all over the area, it had
countless labels attached to its name such as The Investment Capital of South
Luzon as well as the Detroit of the Philippines. It was mostly known for the CocaCola and Toyota manufacturing plants in its industrial estates. More recently, it has
also become famous for Enchanted Kingdom, one of the most famous local theme
parks in the Philippines, as well as several housing developments.
Ive been in Sta. Rosa since I was two years old. Transferring here from Manila was
one the best decisions my parents has ever made. There is something with the
fresh air, kind neighbors, trees, warm smiles of the locals, and the suburban life that
made them decide to stay for good. I grew up here until college, where I had to
move to the city alone. In between summer breaks, I always come back to visit.
Despite its provincial nature and simplicity, Sta. Rosa Laguna is home to thrilling
family and tourists attractions. Aside from the theme park, commercial centers like
Nuvali, Solenad and Paseo are havens of fine dining outlets, bars and cafs, retail
shops and many factory outlets of famous local and international brands like Nike,
Adidas, Mango, Timberland, Samsonite. Wide open spaces and landscaped gardens,
pocket parks, central areas and a 4-hectare multi-functional lake accommodate fun
time and outdoor activities such as frisbee, jogging paths, leisure biking, boat/fish
feeding, tai-chi/yoga, picnic, wakeboarding, etc. Not to mention they also offer
wildlife & bird sanctuaries.
Ive travelled to a lot of places, seen a lot of attractions, tasted a lot of delicacies in
both local and foreign territories but there is nothing else quite like Sta. Rosa
Laguna. It may have had countless titles attached to its name but there is nothing
else more fitting of a title but the place I will always call home.
