Financial Aid Reflection

1. What financial assistance does the FAFSA offer? Based on your application, do you
qualify for assistance through the FAFSA? If so, how much do you expect to receive
and how will you use this money?
Financial aid is money to help pay for college or your career. They offer Federal
Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, Teacher Education
Assistance for College and Higher Education, and the Federal Perkins Loan Program.
Based on my application I do qualify for federal grants. I expect enough money to pay for
tuition, books, and other school supplies I need.
2. Are you eligible to receive the Cal Grant? If so, how much do you expect to receive
and how will you use this money?
I am eligible for Cal Grant B, Cal Grant C, and the Federal Pell Grant. With Cal
Grant B I will receive $10,000 which will go to my Tuition, school supplies etc. and with
Cal Grant C I will receive $3,000 that will go to Tuition and books. The Federal Pell Grant
would give me $5,000 that would also go to my Tuition and school supplies.
3. Are you eligible to receive a Board of Governors Fee Waiver? If so, do you plan on

applying for the BOG Fee Waiver?

Yes, I am eligible for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver. And yes I do plan on applying
for it before I start going to college.
4. Describe your findings from the private scholarship search. Do you plan on applying
to any of the scholarships available? If so, to which are you planning to apply and
how much do you expect to receive if you are accepted?
The Scholarships I found during my search were National Federation of
Republican Women, Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association, and
Santee Kiwanis Community Service Scholarship. I do not plan on applying to any of these
because I already qualify for 3 Grants.
