MACHINING AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Four sets of DWE Parting Line interlocks must be used in each mold application. When in operation,
‘he engaged interlocks contact the edges of the machined pockets to mojntoin the porting line alignment.
The socket head cop screws are only used to retain the interlocks to the mold bose. It vs extremely
important that the pockets he very closely machined and very accurately aligned
The center of each pocket for the Porting Line Mounted Interlock must be loceted on the
centerline of the mold base on each side ond each end of the mold. This centerline location
ig critical to ovoid misalignment problems which could result fron uneven thermo! exponsion
of ihe individual moid plates. Agoin. it is very important to machine the pockets for
0
each set of interlocks with extreme accuracy in both alignment and fit
3. Indivigval ly, ond uniquely mark each of the consonents of the meting Parting Line, Inter ocks,
as weil as their positions in the mold, This will insure that the interlocks will remain os
sets once they hove been instol led,
4, The Porting Line Interlock Right ond Left Hond Gibs mist be mounted to the plate which is exposed to
the highest operoting terperalure. Normally, ‘nis will be on the Stoticnary! or "A" holt of the rote.
This procedure is critical to insure that the center mele interlock does not grow lorger than the
Right! ond Lett Hond Gib Interlock area if uneven mold temperatures ore present.
5. To meintoin accurate olignneni between the parting Vines, it is recomended thot first the pockets for the

Then install the Center Mole Inter locks using the includes socket heod cp screws. The finished pockets con

8. After instol lotion of all four sets of interlocks, open and close the mold while the mold is
fon the bench to check ond insure proper alignment hos been achieved.
9. Always maintain lubricetion on the interlocks to extend the life of each component. Lubrication wit! enhance
the function of the surface treoiments to reduce ony weor, 03 well a5 minimize any possibility of gal licg.
40. Refer to the other side of this sheet for basic dimensiono! information to use in mount in
the Porting Line interlocks ona mold. Moldnaker may adjust fit to suit specific application.
