1. NAME: Group gardening gifts 2. DESCRIPTION: Clients will pot flowers to give as gifts to family or friends. 3. STRUCTURE: Group will meet once a month during warm weather months in community room from 10:00 am to 11:00 am 4. GOALS/BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES: Social participation, relationship skills, cooperation 5. REFERRAL CRITERIA: Must be in substance abuse program 6. METHODOLOGY: Clients will share supplies to paint a pot, fill with soil and pot a flowering plant. Supplies will be placed in a central location so that clients must interact and share. Afterwards we will discuss who the plant will be given to and why they are important to the clients. Further we will discuss why good relationships are important. Supplies needed are plastic pots, paint, soil, water, trays of growing flowers. 7. CURRICULUM or AGENDA: Agenda is to foster positive connections with supportive relationships within the group and outside of it. 8. LEADERS ROLES: Leader is to guide the clients in the project and give examples. Also the leader will supply encouragement and will facilitate discussions. 9.
