WORLD WAR I

World war one started because

of the outrage to the
assassination of Archduke Franz
Ferdinand of Austria and his
wife. When nobody cared about
the death of them, AustriaHungary launched the first world
war with their ally, Germany.

Why start a war over a assassination?

Why go start a war just because nobody really cared about the death of Archduke
and his wife? Well, Austria-Hungary was looking for an excuse to wage a war
against Serbia. So, they can weaken or destroy them to take back territory in the
Balkans. The reason why they havent taken it back yet is because of Germanys
lack of support, without that support they feared Russia since they had a treaty with
Serbia. With the death of the Archduke and his wife, Austria-Hungary managed to
secure the promise from Germany that it would aid a war with Serbia and possibly
Russia. Germany declared war on Russia when Russia helped aid Serbia, due to
Russia having a treaty with France..France declared war on Germany. Germany
later invaded Belgium..so, it would be easier for Germany to invade France. France
also had a treaty with Britain and then Britain declared war on Germany! Including
Britain's colonies, such as Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

One of the greatest and bloodiest battles in WWI

Hundred Day Offensive was known to be one of the bloodiest
battles in WWI! The estimated amount of casualties from both
sides was 1,855,369. With the failure of the Spring Offensive,
German troops were weakened and had a lack of troops from
trying to break through the Allies lines. The Allies also were
weakened, but they are not broken. The Allies had quite an
advantage because they were receiving fresh troops mostly
everyday from the United States, under the lead of General John.
The British and Americans agreed on planning an attack on the
weakened German Second Army. The Germans put up a good
fight, but the Allies managed to break through their lines forcing
Germany to fall back and the German Empire collapsed..later
Germany surrendered and peace terms were later accepted.
