1. Introduction to Chamber Members
The Chairman introduced Ian Silk via around the table introductions of
the Committee and then Ian gave a brief update on his background
including his military background (engineers), working for RAC,
agriculture and then forestry, NHS for 12 years in compliance. Ian now
has his own business as a business consultant since January 2015
and he is keen to work with local businesses in this area and with the
army. GT advised IS, Chamber is a facilitator of businesses and not an
advisor we signpost to other useful organisations and advice and
funding. Ian is an official Inspire (Wessex) partner and as such they
are able to recommend him to their members. He is not a business
advisor in the same way as Inspire have Business Advisors, but he is
able to offer business support to businesses depending on their
requirements. Ians wife has a wages/bookkeeping business at Old
Sarum.
2. Chairman stepping down
DW going to stand down as Chairman from April 2015. DW discussed
the need for an AGM in April to appoint a new Chairman, a re- election
of the management committee and discussion with members and how
the chamber will run going forward from under a new Chairman. DW
has 3 people in mind for Chairman with Ian Silk, who was voted onto
the MC, as a possible candidate. DW asked if Ian can work with the
TDCC MC, until the AGM in April 2016, supporting the transition to a
closer arrangement with Inspire.
3. Minutes of last meeting 14.10.2015
Agreed as an accurate record of proceedings
4. Matters arising from minutes - None

5. Bank Account/Correspondence
Current bank balance (03.10.15 6,831.90) 2,000 we are holding for
Wiltshire Council DW is hoping we can use this but has to be agreed.
Final Invoice to HL
Correspondence none
No corporation tax
Public Liability Insurance DW has details now Direct Line
Remembrance Service at Wellington Academy TP to attend
6. Membership/Future of Chamber
In order to create a future Chamber that is easy to manage and set up for
the long term DW gave an update on all that was happening around and
suggested that we work towards changes to set up and approve at an
AGM in April next year. In order to achieve a closer realignment with
Inspire he suggested we have several meetings between now and next
April where we iron out various issues and set various actions in motion.
The following issues need more discussion and confirmation before
implementing!
Future Meetings
Inspire have agreed to organise 6 events which they will book, publicise
and promote to their database and our members. This now appears to be
a proper commitment from Inspire. Jess will be invited to attend(confirmed
DW) the next Management Committee Meeting(25th November) to discuss
how our partnership will work and finalise arrangements and then to put 6
event dates, for next year, in both diaries so Jess can go ahead and
organise and promote these events. OO suggested that The Wellington
Academy could also be considered as a venue for some of the networking
events, as well as TEN.
Annual Subscription Fees
It is proposed that from next April all membership, Inspire based or local,
will be collected via Direct Debit and repaid to the TDCC as appropriate
(30 from Inspire members full amount from local members) this will be
compulsory to eliminate wasting time in the near future on late payers. DW
suggested that all new members should join as Inspire members and pay
their appropriate fees, existing local members will still pay their current
rate starting at 50, but they wont have the added benefits of Inspire
membership. TDCC to draw up a list of benefits of belonging to Aspire.
Discussion on the ability to attain local membership in the future needs
more discussion.
The Committee were asked if they are happy with Inspire proposal that
they have now all been sent. Overall consensus was yes, although TP
expressed concerns over TDCC being swallowed up by Inspire, DW
suggested we are aligning with Inspire not being taken over by them.
TP also commented that local businesses are mainly interested in how to
increase their footfall and how will Inspire actually help them with this?
OO suggested that in fact we really need to look at the bigger picture

because to attract investment into the area and ultimately increase footfall,
TDCC must be seen as a serious organisation that are progressive and
knowledgeable about and involved in the wider business environment
rather than being left behind by progress. It is also good to encourage
local businesses who are TDCC members to take time to go to better
attended, local business networking events organised by Inspire.
IS commented that as he is a business partner with Inspire he is also quite
well connected into what they are doing and what initiatives Inspire are
currently running and who to contact in relation to these, this knowledge
could be useful to TDCC. It was also mentioned that the benefits of
Role of Business Manager/Administrator/Secretary to be discussed at a
future meeting could committee take on board some of the reduced
tasks, bearing in mind the role will be just organising social events and
some limited admin now. Sue now doing cashbook for Chamber.
HL has agreed to continue to help as needed mainly with updating any
website changes that are suggested and forwarded to her and updating
the Tip of the Month section.

AOB
OO suggested we need a generic TDCC Business Card. Whos name on it?
Definitely put our website and email address on it and a logo and HL
suggested putting our Networking event dates for the next year on the back
and a list of benefits for becoming a member. Useful to use both sides of the
card all TDCC paperwork to be a subject for review at a coming meeting.
GT & HL suggested closer working connection with Hampshire Chamber of
Commerce Contact there Mark Baulch
IS & HL also suggested working more closely with Stonehenge Chamber of
Commerce?
