Advice for non-specialists: Role play


8 pupils to be air sacs and 8 to be the various body cells. The rest need to be red blood cells.
Probably best to space them out so some are carrying red cards and are travelling though the
left side of the heart to the cells and others carry blue cards and are on their way back to the
air sacs. You will need to allocate a runner to collect the red cards from the cells and return
them to the air sacs for reuse and to take the blue cards from the air sacs to the cells. If you
are feeling ambitious try speeding up to show the effect of exercise on the circulation!
