Global warming
Global warming can cause climate change
and environmental disaster. Long-term
changes in temperature, wind, pressure,
precipitation (rain and snow) and humidity
present challenges to our survival.
Environmental degradation, such as
desertification and desiccation, creates
problems in many parts of the world.
Rising temperatures cause ice caps to melt.
Rising sea levels lead to coastal and river
flooding and erosion.
Extreme events occur, such as storms,
drought, forest fires, soil erosion,
landslides, avalanches, tsunamis and the
sudden appearance of pests and diseases.
