Sonnet 33 - A reply by Eloise Lau

Full many a glorious mourning have I seen

Violent the oceans crash with callous sigh
Tears fall into the waters blue and green
The hope beyond the horizon becomes a lie
But though the angry waves seem to ride
With anguished cry into the battered shore
And in the salty cove alone I hide
My hour of lonely weeping is no more
For so my sun one early morn did shine
With all triumphant splendour on my brow
Rejoice! Rejoice! For he is ever mine
The waves have brought him back to me for now
And thus he shall remain til final breath
For love is deeper than the oceans depth
