1.Summary
Lorenzo read the story of 2004 MATE robot ics Competation short story, he was very
interested in robot. But when Fredi told his team they will start the under-water robot
project, everybody do not have confident on this project, except Oscar, he was keep
talking to teammate they can do it. At the beginning everybody got a lot of trouble,
but they work on the problems as a team. Fredi choose go to the competition in
college but not in high school, if they lose they lose in MIT. When they were doing
the robot project, Lorenzo get problem on his school, he was almost get a F. Fredi told
him, If he keep doing like that, he will kick out him form the team.

2.Respond
Page87-112 talked about how Fredi start the robot project team, Fredi always thinks
for the kids, he want them to go to college level competition MIT, he think kids will
learn more on MIT, and when he see Lorenzos grade is not good, he force Lorenzo
work hard on his class, Lorenzo set in the front and bring question to the robot class,
after some time he successfully improved his grade. This part talk a lot of details of
the robot, they earn the robot part from a rich gay. They all work really hard on the
under water project, even they do not even have a pool.
3.Questions
Why Author take about Lorenzo, Christian, and Oscar, but did not mention the Luis in
the story?
Why Oscar do not know thinks move slower in water than the air? Is that because
Oscar never seen sea in his life?
4.Explanation
While I was reading this time, I felt this part is easier then RRJ 3,4, I keep the habit
reading out loud, and I always guess the vocabulary that I do not know form the near
sentences, I felt hard on understanding the history of Phoenix, maybe I need review
the history note form the class.
5.Vocabulary
Marching-to walk with regular, steady steps of equal length, usually in a group or
military formation
Marching shows the way Allan to mange his student, to help his student.

Squirmed- to twist and turn the body in a snakelike movement; wriggle; writhe
Squirmed shows how Fredi think when he do not want be a teacher.
Ridiculous-deserving ridicule
That is the word when Allen and Fredi thinking about the underwater robot project.
