Sitting here on a soft cushion, I cant help but look back to the times where

I was still a young girl. My mom gave birth to me while the soft breeze of a warm
night on the 12th day of May 1999. Even though they just met me that night,
they smiled at me, a smile that any child would recognize as a symbol of
adoration.
As a small child, I was scared of strangers and mingling with other kids. My
head was always covered by a book and only talked to family members and close
friends. Yet, you can compare me to a butterfly. Cocooning ones self in her own
world, knowing herself first before others. I broke free from the walls I built and
flew high to extend my wings. My confidence to speak brought me loyal and
good friend. Friends I can rely on and trust with my secrets.
Even when I was a child, I fell in love with books and learned to love them
more as I grew older. Books of different genre, authors, lengths and styles; I love
them all. My passion led me to the world of writing, where I can freely express
myself in ink. I started out with short poetries then essays until I learned about
campus journalism. Back when my sister was still enrolled in Vinzons Pilot High
School, she was the schools Editor-in-Chief and won awards in the press
conferences. This drove me to be the schools Editor-in-Chief and bring honor,
not just for my school but for my family as well.
Aside from my interest to be an Editor-in-Chief, I dream to be a
Psychologist or practice medical surgery. This is one the reasons why I study
hard. To excel in my studies while still keeping up with my extra-curricular
activities, social and spiritual life. I want to help anyone who needs my
assistance without expecting anything in return. I want to help the families who
Ive met in some of our church and community activities. To contribute to the
development of my country is one of my main goals, thus my dream to be a
Psychologist or Medical Surgeon.
I firmly believe that the Ateneo de Manila University can help me achieve
my goals in life. Being my dream school, ADMU offers the services that any
student aspiring for excellence needs. It will not just improve me in my academic
endeavors, but in my spiritual and social life as well. Ateneo de Manila University
is an institution that helps anyone it can offer its services, and I will give my all to
have my education in the said school and make it proud of me in return.
