The telegraph

Who invented it?

Samuel Finley Breese Morse is the
creator of the telegraph. He was born
in 1791 and died in 1872. He was an
American painter of portraits and
historic scenes, and the creator of the
telegraph system.
Where and when?
The telegraph was created in 1836. He
created it in his attic of his home
because thats where he did most of
his work at.
How?
The
telegraph
was
used
for
communicating with other people, by
using codes sent over wires, before
the telephone was invented.
Why and what?

A device used to send on/off signals

through a wire. Contact is made by
the transmitter in an electrical circuit,
which sends a pulse to the receiver,
causing an electromagnet to be
engaged
temporarily.
The
electromagnet pulls a piece of metal,
making a click. The length of the
clicks are then decoded into words. Its
purpose was to communicate as fast
as possible and it was used before the
telephone was invented. No, the
telegraph is no longer used around
the world, most people stopped using
it when the first telephone was made.
Why should you buy one?
If you dont want a telephone but you
still want to be able to communicate
with others that are far from you, this
is what you need. The telegraph
makes it that you can still talk to

others that you arent with, although it

isnt as fast as a telephone, its a
great thing to invest in if the
telephone isnt for you!
