SCINDIA SHAKESON REG NO: 181 14 352 030 B.Ed natural science CURRICULUM ORGANISATION Curriculum organization is a scientific process and the decisions based on this are based on objective data. The data for curriculum organization belong to two broad categories. The first is considered with interests, needs and aspirations of students, as well as their capacities and capabilities. The second is considered with the functional importance of the content in the life of the individual in relation to his stage of development or the society where his school is located. There are many factors which affect the curriculum organization and these should be considered along with the principles while organizing the curriculum. Though curriculum is the core of the whole educational enterprise, it is likely to be effected by the other aspects of education. Hence, while organizing the curriculum it is essential to keep the certain factors in mind: - supervision and administration - guidance and counseling - the environment which include aids , tools etc Equipments and counseling: - examination and evaluation - the text books the pupil and teacher FACTORS AFFECTING CURRICULUM ORGANISATION There are many factors which affect the curriculum organization and these should be considered along with the principles while organizing the curriculum. Though curriculum is the core of the whole educational enterprise, it is likely to be effected by the other aspects of education. Hence while organizing the curriculum it is essential to keep the following factors in mind. Primary factors: + Teacher & Textbook % Tools, aids and equipments Secondary factors: *» Guidance and counseling * Supervision and administration * Examination and evaluation The needs of the society, the position of the scientific knowledge and the peculiarities of the development of children who study science are primary factors which determine the content and method of science teaching. The curriculum framers should attempt to harmonize and coordinate these factors in such a way that all these factors are equally realized as there is a capability or possibility of one conflicting with the other.
